Spalt Select: a landrace variety originating from the Spalt region in Southern Germany, Spalt (or Spalter) is an aroma variety with characteristics similar to German Tettnang. It belongs to the Saaz group and displays fine, noble characteristics.

Aroma:  noble, herbal character, earthy and floral aromas. 

Style Guide: Lager, Pilsner,​ German Ale, Bock, Kolsch.

Substitutes: Tettnanger, Liberty, Saaz.

  • Beta Acid: 3,0 – 5,0%,
  • Co-Humulone: 22 – 29%,
  • Total Oil: 0,4 – 0,8 ml/100 g,

  • Caryophyllene Oil: 8 – 13%,
  • Farnesene Oil: 12 - 18%,
  • Humulene Oil: 20- 30%,
  • Linalool: 0,5 - 0,8%.

The exact alpha acid content is indicated on every package.

Hops are packed by producers in hermetic bags which preserv aroma and bitterness of hops for at least 3 years from packaking date. "Best before" date is indicated on each bag.
